Sweet & Simple DIY Garden Wedding

California DIY Garden Wedding Some of the sweetest soirees that come across my desk are the simple DIY weddings that are so lovingly hand-crafted by the Bride and Groom. It’s always a big score in my books and this California backyard wedding captured by Alyssa Marie Photography gets top marks. From the bright and cheery garden theme to the traditional Russian wedding cake (a nod to the bride’s heritage), right through to the fabulous ‘getaway bicycles‘, this wedding proves that sometimes the best things in life come in small packages!

From the photographer: It was a beautiful intimate backyard wedding shared with close friends & relatives. All the details of this wedding were absolutely gorgeous and easy things to make on your own! Tracy Williams & Laurie Stacey from COLORSAW design helped the overall garden theme come to life. Yana (bride) is Russian and had her family from Russia was watching the entire evening over skype while most of Bryan (groom) had his family flown in from Japan. They had so many cute ideas that made their evening really special like a symbolic balloon release & their personalized “get-away” bikes for their honeymoon. Their cake was a simple homemade traditional Russian layered honey cake.
