Modern Las Vegas Wedding at Springs Preserve

Wait till you meet this bride and groom! These guys had a ball in Las Vegas. Their art inspired wedding was action-packed from whoa to go and included some beautiful and unique details. Like the elegant outdoor ceremony with sculptured floral decorations, the turquoise mismatched bridesmaids with red gerbera bouquets and a modern reception with white decor and tall contemporary centrepieces. Lovely bride Angelena designed the wedding theme ‘forms of art’ and put her own originality and creativity into many of the decor elements. But for me, the sweetest touch of all was the ceremony reading (which photographer Catherine shares with us below). It’s one of the most original and touching I’ve ever heard. Catherine Guidry took all the happy snaps and also threw in a fantastic mini-tour of Las Vegas – thanks Catherine, it was if we were right there with you!The Mirage Las VegasLas Vegas Modern WeddingLas Vegas LimoLas Vegas ViewRed and White Grooms ShoesSculptured Ceremony ArborSprings Preserve WeddingCeremony ArborArt Inspired Ceremony DecorArt Inspired CeremonyWhite and Black Modern BouquetTurquoise Wedding ColoursSprings Preserve Las Vegas WeddingArt Inspired Reception DecorWhite Paper Lanterns CeilingLas Vegas Wedding ShootContemporary Wedding CentrepiecesTurquoise Mismatched BridesmaidsLas Vegas Bride & GroomLas Vegas Wedding PicturesModern Las Vegas Wedding

From Photographer Catherine:

“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?” “It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse. “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get all loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” This excerpt from the Velveteen Rabbit was read during Angelena and Greg’s Las Vegas wedding. And just as Richard finished the excerpt Angelena wiped her tear filled eyes and mouthed the words “I love you.” to Greg. They wanted a wedding that was Simple, Easy, and Modern. It was all that and more. The wedding was held at the Springs Preserve, a green and environmentally friendly venue that really gave them the colorful and memorable wedding they dreamed of. Being there at such a beautiful venue with such an incredible couple was more than I can describe in words and I am so honored to have been there to document their day.

Lovely bride Angelena shares with us her wedding details:

What was your vision for your wedding?

The vision for my wedding was “Forms of Art”. Everything from the flowers, food to name place setting was a work of art. I even personally designed our wedding rings! The arbor was a wonderful sculptural back drop. Enchanted Florist really listed to what I had in mind and they executed the decor perfectly. Catherine Guidry’s photography could not have been anymore moving. She captured my vision perfectly with her stunning balance of art and architecture.

What do you feel was unique about your wedding?

I chose to go to Las Vegas for my wedding because there is a magical exuberance about it. It’s a wonderful spot to have a group gathering and there is something for everyone. I chose the Springs Preserve as the ceremony and reception site because it was absolutely gorgeous. From the natural art to the architecture, it all fit perfectly in with my theme. I wanted Vegas but not Little White Chapel Vegas.

Did you include any DIY or personalized details?

I wrote the entire ceremony myself except the two readings. I painted the table numbers and all the name place settings.

What were your biggest challenges?

My biggest challenge was having never actually been to the Springs Preserve. I planned it all via email with the ever patient coordinator Michelle Lettieri. The day before the wedding my fiancé and I went to visit and take care of the little last minuet details.

What were your favourite moments?

My favorite moment was being able to get out on the dance floor with my friends! Let me tell you! I LOVE to shake it! We all had an amazing never forget night! DJ Harry O was extremely pertinent to my big day. He did such a fantastic job with the ceremony and reception music. Everyone had a blast because he could really feel the crowd and kept us going. Music is crucial for any party!
