This gorgeous Summer wedding by Jan Michele Photography takes place on what was formerly George Washington’s property (yes THAT George!) and today is home to the American Horticultural Society. Framed by picturesque grounds and gardens it is overflowing with the charm of a beautiful bygone era. Making it a truly fitting landscape for this captivating Virginia Wedding.
Due to the hot Summer temperature, most of the ceremony was held under the property’s Osage Orange tree – the largest of it’s type in Virginia and believed to be a gift from Thomas Jefferson – so this beautiful wedding was already off to a impressive start. Add to that a pretty soft green and mauve color scheme, a stunning bride and an awesome outdoor marquee reception, and this Southern stunner ticks all the big boxes. And when I tell you I’d be happy to pack my bags and live in that charming historic home, you better believe it . . . I would gladly move there in a heartbeat. Sigh. Oh yes, it’s settled. This sweet, Summer soiree is calling my name and I’m a gonner for sure.
