In my opinion, this beautiful DIY wedding at Ahmanson Ranch in California is the perfect combo of a chic modern affair and backyard soiree. Completely personalized by the bride and groom, it is perfectly infused with style, grace and complete and utter beauty. It’s the type of wedding with it’s loving attention to detail and wonderful creativity you know has been created from the ground up. Yet, at the same time it’s so stylish it literally takes your breath away and has you longing for more when it’s time to leave. I was ecstatic when the super talented Youngrens sent this beautiful wedding my way. So much so, I just wanted to linger forever amongst all the pretty – the amazing white floral decorations and billowing sheer fabric, the champagne pink bridesmaids with their adorable clutch purses, and the amazing custom made bridal gown with its corset bodice and layered Spanish style skirt – totally exquisite!
From the Photographer: Chris and Dena’s ranch style wedding was DIY and personlized from top to bottom. From Dena’s silk bouquet, the flowergirls’ hair pieces, the bridesmaids’ custom clutches, the guys’ boutonnieres, the peacock feather accents, the cork name cards, and the picnic style tables, most of the details came from CuteandUnique.com, Etsy, Anthropologie, or local thrift stores. Even Dena’s corsette dress was custom designed and handmade by a designer friend. They also had ‘Muglies’ for the favors – ugly, tacky mugs that guests got to choose from and use for their drinks for the rest of the evening! It was so fun watching everyone walk around sipping from their mugs!
