In Montana, you’ll find a small mountain town called Red Lodge … known for its winter months of snowboarding and skiing. But as you’ll from these gorgeous pics, it really is the perfect location for a pretty rustic wedding! We’re delighted to share with you this gorgeous DIY country affair by Kat Skye Photography …
From the photographer: The bride, Nikki is a Montana girl, so it goes without saying cowgirl boots are her staple accessory. She also took her lovely bridesmaids shopping for boots to pair with their blue mismatched dresses. There were plenty of handmade details including the groomsmen’s boutonnieres made from flowers and fishing wire; the reception tables decorated by the bride’s mum; plus the very delicious smoked ribs cooked by friends. Despite the rain, it was a beautiful ceremony and once the rain passed the afternoon lighting for the reception was perfect. It was a great down to earth rustic Montana wedding with lots of comforting food and beer to satisfy. Ultimately, a day of love and celebration of their new life as a married couple!
From the bride: Barrett and I knew each other for a year before dating. One weekend after a tournament he got my number and started to text me (real sly). He asked me to coffee and 3 weeks later we were officially dating. We dated for 2.5 years before we got married and in those two years we quickly became best friends. We love being active and spending time with each other, and we don’t go a day with out laughing… rarely even an hour. Being married has bring its challenges and hard times, but nothing that will overshadow the joy that we bring to each other’s lives.

Isn’t it interesting to use this kind of layout for the wedding photography? One in color, one is grey. Brilliant ideas. Besides the great wedding gown, the different bridesmaid dresses in the same style are eye-catching.
