Photographer Annie shares: The picturesque outdoor gardens at The Dominion House provided the breathtaking backdrop for the marriage of Annie & Eric. A year before the wedding, Annie nixed the idea of a traditional wedding in her home state of Minnesota and ventured south to Oklahoma City. The moment Annie walked through the doors to the garden she knew Dominion was the ideal wedding location.
The wedding day was absolutely perfect. Annie wore a unique Allure ballgown with asymmetrical ruching and an extraordinary train with caught-up and pleated details and a hand-made veil designed by the groom’s sister-in-law. The bridal bouquet was wrapped in an ivory crystal satin and lace ribbon adorned with the bride’s grandmother’s cameo necklace. All three bridesmaids donned one shouldered eggplant chiffon tea-length dresses by Jim Hjelm Occasions and each carried a one of a kind bouquet which tied into the color scheme perfectly.
Following the beautiful outdoor ceremony, guests immediately walked to Dominion’s indoor ballroom and were greeted with butler passed hors d’oeuvres and beverages. The wedding colors flowed cohesively throughout the ballroom. Eggplant chair sashes and table runners matched flawlessly with the splendid assortment of floral centerpieces containing raspberry sumatra lily, eryngium, blue hydrangea and purple kale. Bright pink uplighting encircled the room and gave just the right amount of ambiance for the 110 attendees.
The purple paisley bridal cake included a tier replicating the back of the bride’s dress and the groom was smitten with his OU Sooners football cake. Partygoers danced the night away on the monogrammed dance floor and at the end of the unforgettable evening, guests got to “Choose Their Team” from a selection of University of MN or OU cookies for a party favor.
