Vintage Inspired Wedding in Byron Bay

I always get excited when I see a home grown Australian wedding receiving adoration from an international leading wedding blog such as the wonderful Style Me Pretty. So when I saw this gorgeous vintage inspired Byron Bay Wedding featured on SMP’s Destination blog, I was over the moon. The whole gorgeous, casual and romantic affair is designed by the amazing team formerly known as Poppy Lane and captured by Justin at Bushturkey Studio. With so many beautiful vintage inspired details I’m struggling to name just a few. So in case you missed the SMP feature, I thought I would break down the details, along with a few extra pics from Bushturkey’s blog. Hope you enjoy.

The outdoor cocktail gathering for guests featured truly personal and creative vintage details including a custom made oyster bar constructed from old country fence palings, monogrammed flagged toothpicks and an old vintage gate with vintage keys for the seating chart. The guests mingled around outdoor tables adorned with vintage doilies and crystal cut vases with pretty mixed blooms, played lawn games and quenched their thirst with refreshing punch.

At dinnertime, guests were led to the romantic marquee reception along a walkway framed with shephard hooks and hanging mason jars filled with flowers.

Each reception table featured a picture of the bride and groom in different poses displaying the table number. The pretty vintage centerpieces included vintage doily runners, a mix match of vases and bottles, and place settings displayed on scrabble tiles. After dinner, the old country hall became the dance venue, complete with fairy lights, floral flag bunting and a yummy dessert buffet.

I absolutely love this wedding. The decor is amazing. I’d really like to know where I can source the bunting and shepherd’s hooks. Poppy Lane the stylist, doesn’t seem to have any up to date contact details online?

    • Kym

Thanks Emma – we also adore the decor! Apparently, Poppy Lane is no longer in business, however one of their stylists now has her own event stylist company called Scout and Charm. I would try contacting them for more info on the decor sources. Good luck! :)
